Club Night Planning Group
Learning disabled people in the Tees Valley decided they wanted a Club Night that was safe, fun and about their culture, where they spend time with each other, friends and families.
A planning group was created which initally started with members of the Full Circle theatre group, 25 Days to Find My Way project, ARC-eology Appetisers and Our Version of Events (aka OVOE), who discussed the planning of each club night so that disabled people were involved with every level of the planning process.
This original planning group created a shortlist of names and 'Arctic Piranha' was voted the name of the club night, and we are delighted that it is has turned into a very recognisable brand.
Club nights take place throughout the year, and each night has a different theme which is decided on by the planning group. Some fantastic nights have taken place so far with themes such as 'fire and ice' and 'summer nights', and the feedback we have recieved has been incredible.
A regular planning group made up of ARC staff and members of 25 Days now meet each Tuesday on the run up to the club night to discuss decorations, drinks and food, games and of course, the all important playlists!
