NE Volume Live gig brings top bands to ARC

Teesside’s leading music magazine NE Volume is bringing some of the most sought after bands on the music scene to ARC on Saturday 9th September for NE Volume Live - a celebratory gig to celebrate the magazine’s 2nd birthday.

Sunderland indie pop heroes Frankie and The Heartstrings take on headline duties. The band have been a major player on the regional music scene for over a decade, and songs such as Tender, Hunger and Think Yourself Lucky have helped to attract the attention of major festivals and radio stations across the country.

The Lake Poets have built one of the strongest fan bases in the region with fans travelling miles to hear their melodic and emotionally charged songs such as Your Face and Honest Hearts.

Yorkshire band Glass Caves return after their storming set at ARC earlier this year as part of Stockton Calling, they told NE Volume they love performing in the region too: “ The North East is like a home from home for us – we love it every time we come!” Listen out for their beautifully melodic track - Swim.

Boy Jumps Ship are a rock band with a big stage presence and an even bigger sound, they take inspiration from Biffy Clyro and Taking Back Sunday.

Abel Raise The Cain are now a stalwart of the Teesside band scene and tracks such as Every Rise or Million Dollar Night are fine examples of their craftsmanship.

Psychedelic blues rock band Velvoir and exciting female twin duo Talk Like Tigers will also take to the stage.

NE Volume was launched two years ago by Stockton-born Lee Allcock who has driven publication from strength to strength since its conception and now distributes the magazine from Newcastle to Northallerton.

Speaking about the magazine’s upcoming birthday bash, Lee said:

“For the last two years we’ve been doing all we can to spread the word about upcoming artists both in the North East and out of town, but what better way is there to showcase that talent than by putting the artists on one of Teesside’s most iconic stages.

“There is a phenomenal amount of talent both here in the North East and across the UK as a whole, and we want to make sure that they have the ability to share their skills with 550 passionate music fans right here in Teesside.”

Tickets cost £14 and can be booked in person from our Box Office, by calling 01642 525199, or online here.
