Javier Escrihuela Gandia was born in Puerto de Sagunto, Valencia (Spain) in 1997. At the age of eleven he commenced his studies at “José Iturbi´s Municipal Conservatoire where he was awarded the highest score in every department. Javier studied under the tutelage of internationally renowned teachers such as Iñaki Etxepare and Eduardo Vassallo and he has had masterclasses with Mikolós Perényi, Jens Peter Maintz, Istvan Vardai, Stephan Fork, Lluis Claret, Marçal Cervera amongst others. He has given concerts in Spain, Germany Rumania or UK.
Javier has participated in different events such as the “Jaime Dobato” Young Cellist National Competition where he won second prize as well as the “BBC Proms Youth Ensemble” where he played alongside the “BBC Symphony Orchestra“ at the Last night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
After finishing his professional studies at the “Conservatorio Municipal Jose Iturbi” (Valencia) he was awarded by the jury with the “End of Degree Professional Award” and he achieved the highest score on the strings department of the “Professional Awards of the Valencian Community”

Javier’s passion for chamber music has enabled him to form different ensembles such as the “Cuerda Quartet” which was invited to play alongside the well-known “Solem Quartet” at the “Royal Northern College of Music International Strings Festival” in 2016.
In addition, Javier Escrihuela has his duo piano partner “Daniel Ropota” whom perform around Europe. He also is frequantly invited to play chamber music concerts and make recordings as a principal cellist of the chamber orchestra of the “III International Chamber music Festival City of Castelló (Spain)”
From the age of five teen years old and after making his debut as a soloist playing on tour with the “Orquesta Filarmonica Martín y Soler (Valencia)” Javier’s orchestral experience has been constantly growing up.
He is regularly invited to play with different ensembles as the “Orquesta Filarmonica Martín y Soler (Valencia)”, the “RNCM Symphony Orchestra,” the “RNCM Concert Orchestra” and the “RNCM Brand New Orchestra” amongst others.

Despite his short age, he has made many recordings with piano and orchestra, and amongst his cello solo projects, it is important to highlight his CD, “Un Proyecto Hecho Realidad” which features important works by “J.S.Bach” and the spanish composer “Gaspar Cassadó”.

In 2015, Javier received an entrance scholarship by the “Royal Northern College of Music” where he is currently studying with Eduardo Vassallo.

Daniel Ropota is a Romanian piano student in second year at the Royal Northern College of Music from Manchester. He plays the works of Bach, Beethoven & Brahms.
