CATCH 22 COMEDY CLUB: HALLOWEEN SPECIAL
With MC Ian Smith, Rob Deering, Chris Washington & Tony Wright
Ian Smith is wonderfully inventive, with an ability to make peculiar and semi-surreal situations seem totally credible.
You may recognise Ian from the BBC3 panel show Sweat the Small Stuff. He has had a number of hits at Edinburgh Fringe Festival which have collectively won him a load of critical acclaim as well as some shiny awards.
“You’d do well to catch him now before his inevitable jump to the big time” – The Telegraph
Comedian, musician and writer Rob Deering turns things up to 11, using his trusty guitar and loop pedal to create impressive soundscapes, as well as telling incredibly funny jokes – of course. A razor-sharp wit, clownish physicality – served with instrumental and vocal trimmings are what make seeing Rob’s stand-up live, a unique experience.
“Ingenious and hilarious” – The Guardian
Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer nominee and professional realist Chris Washington’s debut show Dream Big (Within Reason) went down extremely well with critics and punters alike. His simplistic take on joke telling and indeed on life paired with his northern charm – is bound to win crowds over time and time again.
“A timeless storytelling joke-smith.” – Beyond the Joke
Tony Wright began stand-up three years ago when he was just 15, this year he won the Manchester heat of Chortle Student Comedy Award 2017.
