The Staying Out project provides people aged 65+ who have been identified as being socially isolated in their community, or who have recently been discharged from hospital, with creative and friendly sessions arts and crafts based sessions.
The group are supported by Artist and Community Practitioner, Michelle Tripp, and Nikki Greenwood, ARC’s Older Person’s Programme Co-Ordinator. Nikki and Michelle create a relaxed environment, to chat, drink tea and create art together.
The pieces in Collaboration / Creation range from large textile works, collaborative works to drawings and paintings. These pieces have been created from a range of materials in Staying Out’s weekly sessions over the course of 2018.

The centre piece of the exhibition is PROFILE. PROFILE has been created in collaboration with Michelle and Staying Out participants, exploring identity and creativity.

 

Silver Creative Arts meet every Thursday at ARC to have fun and express their artistic abilities in a relaxed, social and therapeutic session. The group are led by Artist and Community Practitioner Michelle Tripp. Michelle teaches a range of different techniques, encouraging each individual to create something of their own and experiment.

UNTITLED showcases pieces from each member of Silver Creative Arts and reflects the distinct nature of each individual. Ranging from dreamy watercolor landscapes and bold portraits, the showcase is a testament to the creative talents of the group and Michelle’s work in developing their talents.
