Emma Stevens

Emma Stevens is performing in the Studio as part of our new Studio Folk programme - a series of intimate gigs performed by the rising stars of the folk scene.

Emma Stevens is a British singer-songwriter who fuses catchy pop melodies with folk instrumentation, playing the majority of the instruments on her albums herself. A favourite of BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans and the late Sir Terry Wogan, she achieved four consecutive playlisted singles from her first two albums.

Now with writing and recording completed on her third studio album, entitled To My Roots, Emma is setting off on a UK tour and is heading to Teesside to showcase her new material.

Support comes from Joe Martin

Joe Martin is a Country and Americana singer songwriter based in Leeds. Since an early age he has been influenced by the like of the Beatles, the Eagles, James Taylor and Bob Dylan and has developed his own unique style of Americana and Country blues. While studying in Leeds, Joe founded the band Fitzwallace in 2013, who have performed at some of the most recognised and respected Country, Folk and Americana festivals the UK has to offer. Having left Fitzwallace in 2016 Joe is working as a solo artist, planning on releasing an EP early next year and returning to Nashville to work on more material in 2017.
