Ricky Ross – Short Stories Vol 1
Ricky Ross, the voice and founder of multimillion album selling band Deacon Blue is coming to ARC for the first time! The Scottish singer-songwriter will be showcasing new material as well as revisiting some of the best known hits of Deacon Blue’s vast back catalogue. And with 12 UK top 40 singles and two Number One albums, there’s no shortage of tracks to choose from. When the World Knows Your Name. Real Gone Kid. Fergus Sings the Blues. Dignity. Wages Day …. Take your pick!
As well as providing a sound track to the ‘80s and ‘90s for millions of fans around the world, Ricky has also forged a hugely successful solo career with a clutch of studio albums including last year’s sumptuous Short Stories Vol 1. He has also written for or with a veritable who’s who of contemporary artists including James Blunt, Ronan Keating, Jamie Cullum and Nanci Griffith.
More than 30 years after the release of Deacon Blue’s first album, the show at ARC will be a chance for fans to see him up close and personal with that voice and those songs! “My solo shows are a very different beast to Deacon Blue live. They're intimate, minimal, a chance for me to revisit songs that started out life with just piano and vocals and take them back to their roots, as well as play some new songs inspired by recent times"
We can’t wait!
Support comes from BBC Young Folk Award nominee Roseanne Reid, whose releases her first Americana style folk album later this year produced by Teddy Thompson.
This event will be on sale from Tue 6 Feb 10am
