December 2015

Arctic Piranha Club Night has splashed onto the Club Night scene by and for learning disabled people! All the planning and preparation paid off for a Saturday night of dancing, singing, and fun with friends on a late night out on 5 December.

DJ Gavin Frosty was on top form with the pay-list chosen by people in the planning meetings, we had top entertainment from Hartlepool Hip-Hoppers and Feisty Girls and live band Aukestra from Newcastle blew everyone away.

The props and decorations were fantastic made by a team of over 33 learning disabled people in advance – there is a link to photos of the event on Facebook here

We learned so much from our first event and can’t wait to do the second one in the Spring 2016. Please spread the word to learning disabled people in Teesside and across the North East – we believe that learning disabled people should be supported to have the lifestyles they choose.

We had brilliant BSL interpretation from Sue Lee from Becoming Visible, a Deaf-led organisation.
