During the period that we were able briefly reopen in 2020 we put a number of measures in place to keep our customers and staff safe. These measures followed the latest COVID guidance available at the time. While it’s still unclear when we will be able to reopen our building again, we will of course continue with any measures that are necessary to keep everyone safe.

In the meantime we are continuing to work without a building, and have lots of things people can get involved with from home.

Below you can find out about the measures we put in place last year, and as things continue to develop we’ll provide more information about measures you can expect to see when we reopen in 2021.

Hand sanitiser stations:
Hand sanitiser stations are situated at the entrance, and other key points in the building.

Social distancing:
Social distancing is in place throughout our building, from foyers and No 60 to our cinema and spaces where classes are held. This includes the use of the theatre stage for some of our most popular classes to ensure social distancing can be maintained. We will have staff on hand to offer assistance as well as floor markings and signs making clear the location of queuing areas or one way systems.

Reserved seating:
All our cinema screenings use reserved seating to guarantee social distancing can be maintained while audiences enjoy the latest film releases. This means screenings are sold to a much smaller capacity with fewer seats available to book. We recommend advanced booking wherever possible.

Updated cleaning schedule:
A stricter cleaning schedule is in place, including measures such as increased cleaning of frequently touched surfaces, for example door handles and bannisters. This includes staff only areas to ensure the whole building remains COVID secure.

E-tickets:
We have introduced e-tickets which are emailed directly to customers after they make a booking and can easily be scanned from a customer’s smart phone screen to limit contact between staff and customers and reduce queuing at the Box Office.

Contactless and card payments:
We are asking all customers visiting ARC to use contactless or card payments at box office and No 60 in order to reduce contact between customers and staff. Cash will not be accepted at Box Office and No 60.

Revised session times:
We have revised the start times of some regular activities to provide greater gaps between sessions allowing us to better manage the flow of people through foyers.
