THE SHOW
UIITBA is a darkly twisted comedy using clowning & music to explore isolation, escapism and fear.

THE BLURB
On the outskirts of a small town a 24 hour garage is under attack from supernatural forces. Can 2 lowly cashiers live to fight another day, or be trapped in an endless night shift? There’s Something Unexpected in the Bagging Area…

YOUR ROLE
Here at The Doghouse we are seeking a versatile and creative composer who can help create a unique soundscape that enhances both its eerie and comedic elements. From unsettling ambient sounds to comedic musical cues, your music will help create tension, humour, and atmosphere.

The Composer will have experience in composing original scores, performing live sound, and working with sound design to create dynamic, layered audio that supports the shifting tone of the show.

The music should range from the camp, kitsch, Hawaiian elevator music of Les Baxter to the haunting, unnerving movie scores of Jonny Greenwood. We will experiment with Karaoke, Talking Heads and maybe even a spot of 90’s RnB…It is set in a24 Hour Garage after all…

VISUAL STORYTELLING
Scott is an experienced performer and theatre maker who uses live illustrations on an old school Over Head Projector to tell stories and animate characters. So, visual storytelling will be an essential part of the process.

CLOWNING
The team are influenced by theatre companies such as Spy Monkey and Gecco, so we will be focusing on physical comedy and clowning as a way of creating new material to add to an existing script.
