Would you consider a donation to support our work?
You will help us continue to deliver arts and creative activity to local people, now and in the future when you give to ARC, however little.
Your donation will help us cover the costs of running ARC, our building and the activities we provide for older people, children and young people, and disabled people – and many others. We work with some of the most disadvantaged people in our local communities, supporting them to stay active, creative and socially connected.
COVID put more than three-quarters of our income at risk
Before the pandemic, we generated 80% of our income through ticket sales, hire fees, catering, project grants and other fundraising. We are now working hard to build these areas of income back up.
As a non-profit we re-invest all of this money so even more people can be creative, and experience brilliant arts activities, and so it’s vital we make up as much of this shortfall as possible.
The remaining 20% of our income comes from Arts Council England and Stockton on Tees Borough Council.
We are being careful, but face a difficult future.
During the pandemic, we managed our finances very carefully and benefitted from national Government support schemes including the Cultural Recovery Fund and furlough scheme. Whilst our building was closed, we offered many of our activities and live events online, continuing to support our communities to stay creative and connected.
But as a charity, we face many challenges to continue our work now and over difficult months ahead. We know recovery is going to take a while, and the ongoing impact of high inflation means our costs are rising at a time when our income is low.
