Ten Feet Tall present
We are delighted to welcome King Creosote (otherwise known as Fife’s Kenny Anderson) and his band for a first-ever appearance at ARC.
Last year’s Astronaut Meets Appleman album followed KC’s breakthrough record From Scotland with Love (2014) and his Mercury-nominated collaboration with Jon Hopkins, Diamond Mine (2011), It garnered rave reviews pretty much across the board:
‘King Creosote’s finest hour yet’ - Mojo
‘His wrinkled brogue – warm, pithy, occasionally fluttering to a falsetto – is a thing of understated beauty in itself, framed in folk-shanty arrangements that make telling use of strings and bagpipes’ Uncut
‘Kenny Anderson serves up another gem & lives up to his reputation as one of our great lyricists’ - Sunday Times Culture
‘King Creosote is still finding ways to push himself and is totally justified purely for the creativity of the finished work’ - The Line of Best Fit
On Astronaut Meets Appleman, King Creosote is still upsetting apple-carts and dealing with the fallout, still appraising love and life, the moon, the stars; tide tables, bagpipe scores, zeros and ones; mathematics, ticking clocks and the beat of our hearts.
Many of you will be fans already. For those yet to discover KC, our advice is… buy the record (if you haven’t already), see the show, and get on board with one of the most singular talents to emerge from the Scottish music scene in decades.
Part of the Stockton Stages weekend, a festival bringing a thrilling array of comedy and music talent to Stockton Town Centre between Wednesday 30 May and Saturday 2 June. Visit the Stockton Stages website for further acts and information.
We set ticket prices based on demand; the price can go up or down depending on how well a show is selling. The price will usually increase closer to the event date, so we always recommend booking in advance to take advantage of best price. You can read more about our dynamic pricing policy here.
