What does it mean to be a proud ally – not just in words, but in action?

This online session, led by Curious Arts, is a practical, open and affirming introduction to LGBTQIA+ allyship. Whether you’re just getting started or want to build more confidence in your allyship, this is a space to learn, ask questions and think deeply about what inclusive practice really looks like.

We’ll cover the Equality Act, inclusive language, lived experience, intersectionality and the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces for LGBTQIA+ people in our creative and community work. You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be open, respectful and ready to learn.

Location – this session is Zoom-based; participants can join remotely with access needs considered.

This event is part of the wider Borderlands training programme of activity to support the Communities of Possibility commissions. This session is for artists, producers, community workers and anyone supporting public-facing creative activity across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland.
