We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Alexander Ferris as ARC’s new Chief Executive and Creative Director.

Alexander comes to the organisation after seven years as Associate Director at Leeds Playhouse where he led the award-winning creative engagement team, one of the largest of its kind in the country. Ferris also brings experience from previous senior roles at The Old Vic, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, and Sheffield Theatres.

Reflecting on his appointment to the role, he said “I am incredibly excited to be joining ARC Stockton as their new Chief Executive and Creative Director. For the last 20 years, the incredible team here have been making such a difference to the town and the whole of the Tees Valley through creativity and collaboration. Throughout my career, I have always strived to bring people and ideas together through my work. The arts play such a vital role in making sense of who we are, helping us to improve our wellbeing and to connect with each other. At ARC, I am looking forward to deepening relationships with the local community, championing the talent in the region and presenting and co-producing the very best music, theatre, comedy, spoken word, dance and film for everyone to enjoy.”

Kate Craddock, Chair of ARC’s Board of Trustees, said “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am delighted to announce Alexander Ferris as ARC’s new Chief Executive and Creative Director. Alex joins ARC with a wealth of experience that is relevant to ARC and to the communities that we work with. His vision and passion for the role that arts and creativity can play in people’s lives is refreshing, and we are excited to see how ARC will evolve under his leadership. We very much look forward to welcoming Alex in January.”
