ARC Champions Scott Turnbull for Fringe

We’re beyond proud that our Associate Artist Scott Turnbull is heading to the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer with his brand-new show, ‘Scott Turnbull presents…Surreally Good.’

Scott, who is currently on tour with his brilliantly bonkers comedy-theatre piece ‘Unexpected Item in the Bagging Area,’ has launched a fundraiser to help bring his latest creation to life at the Fringe.

He’s aiming to raise £4,000 in just 30 days to support his run at Summerhall, one of Edinburgh’s most beloved year-round venues. The funds will go towards essential costs including rehearsals, a stage manager, venue fees, travel and accommodation, and marketing – all to make sure this incredible show gets the audience it deserves.

Running 31st July to 25th August, ‘Scott Turnbull presents…Surreally Good’ promises a wild and wonderful journey through love, death and everything in between – all delivered in Scott’s signature surreal style. Expect lo-fi overhead projector animations, catchy songs played badly on a miniture Casio keyboard, and moments of unexpectedly moving storytelling told with heart, humour, and felt tip pens.

Scott is no stranger to pushing creative boundaries. His unique mix of live illustration, offbeat comedy, and heartfelt performance earned him a Tees Valley Artist of the Year bursary in 2024, and we can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes him.

At ARC, we’re committed to supporting artists from our region to develop bold, original work and we couldn’t be prouder to help Scott take his next step on the national stage.
