Jack Bennett – Too Much, Too Young – 2015
As an actor, Jack has worked for companies including; the National Theatre, Sheffield Theatres, Chichester Festival
Theatre, the New Vic, Hampstead Theatre and The Reduced Shakespeare Company. He has twice appeared in the
West End, in productions directed by Nicholas Hytner and Mike Leigh. Much of his work has been in new writing,
including plays by John Donnelly and Mark Ravenhill. As a deviser/collaborator, Jack has most recently worked with
Oscar Mike on both The Situation Room and in developing Knights (a new play by Marcelo Dos Santos), with
curious directive on After The Rainfall and with Daniel Bye on How To Occupy An Oil Rig. He has just finished
playing Macduff in Omnibus Theatre’s production of Macbeth. |

Too Much, Too Young
Too Much, Too Young is Jack’s first solo show as a theatre maker. His second piece Winners is currently in
development. It will be developed with ARC in association with Oxford Playhouse, for whom Jack has recently
been selected as an Artist in Residence. It is a one-man theatre show which asks the question: isn’t it daft we
ask teenagers to make life-defining decisions? But it’s less like being in a theatre and more like being down the
pub. He talks with the audience and plays some games with them. He tells them a story of how his life was
dramatically changed when he was a teenager, and then invites them to decide whether all of the ages we
do things are the wrong ones. Oh, and they also get to create an entirely new education system.
