Tees Valley International Film Festival Returns to ARC
The Tees Valley International Film Festival is back at ARC in Stockton this November 6th to 8th, celebrating its fourth year with a packed programme of premieres, special guests and local talent.

Gala Premiere: The First Five Miles
This part-documentary, part-drama marks the 200th anniversary of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. Featuring Stephen Tompkinson and Bill Fellows, the film explores the often-overlooked first five miles of the historic route. Includes Q&A with director Michael Smith and journalist Chris Lloyd.
Gala Premiere: Three Peaks, Three Pots
Follow Darlington’s John Beamson as he takes on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – with a twist. Between each climb, he descends into some of the UK’s deepest caves. The premiere includes a live Q&A with John and filmmaker Paul Suggitt.
An Evening with Tim Healy
The beloved North East actor shares career highlights and behind-the-scenes stories from Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, Benidorm and more, followed by an audience Q&A in the intimate studio theatre.
The Parmo D’Or for Best North East Film
Over the past year, the Tees Valley International Film Festival has welcomed short film submissions from around the world. Now, the best of the bunch – nominated for the coveted Parmo D’Or for Best North East Film – will be screened as part of the festival.
BFI Film Academy Showcase
A screening of new short films by the next generation of Tees Valley talent, produced through the BFI Academy in partnership with Writers’ Block North East. Includes a Q&A with course leaders.
Gala Premiere: Tania
A quirky, heartfelt short by Hartlepool filmmaker Adam Bouabda, starring Stephen Tompkinson. Funded through the TVIFF Scholarship, the event includes a “Making Of” short and live Q&A.
Closing Night: An Evening with Johnny Vegas
Comedy icon Johnny Vegas headlines the final night, interviewed by Game of Thrones star Ben Crompton. Expect laughs, insights, awards, the Monologue Competition final, and a live rendition of “Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba’s Dunstan Bruce.
Festival Selections
Across three days, audiences can enjoy screenings of shortlisted films from global and regional creators, including drama, comedy, horror, animation, student, and smartphone films.
