Growth Hub Stockton is part of the Pioneering Care Partnership. They are a community garden centre, café and plant nursery that supports and empowers intellectually disabled adults within Stockton to engage positively with the larger community. Developing skills, building confidence and grow independence in a supportive enterprising environment. Participating in a range of enterprising activities aligned to garden centre but also the interests of the attendees. This led to the creation of the photography group.

The photography team is led by Denis Dunning. During his career Denis has been a professional photographer, a lecturer in photography and a tutor for enthusiastic adults looking to develop their photography skills. The team is dynamic and is composed of attendees of Growth Hub Stockton’s learning disability service. The provision supports individuals with a range of disabilities, primarily learning disabilities but often autism, ADHD, sensory, physical as well as and barriers to independence. This broad range is reflected within the photography team.

The Vision: Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is a multi-award-winning health and wellbeing charity working across the North East and beyond. PCP aims to improve health and wellbeing through the development and provision of:

  • Services that build capacity with individuals and communities to improve their own health and wellbeing and to have greater choice and control.
  • Services that tackle health inequalities
  • Local accessible services in community settings
