Each month, Rough Cut Revolutions gives Tees Valley artists the stage to share their newest, boldest, and most daring work, straight from the rehearsal room to a live, supportive audience.

Be the first to experience brand-new performances and creative experiments from some of the region’s most exciting talent.

In July’s edition of Rough Cut Revolutions, get ready for a night of fresh ideas, new performances, and back-to-back talented Teesside artistry from:

BrainSoup Collective: A new theatre company that creates surrealist movement based work that pushes the boundaries of digital multimedia theatre. push the boundaries of performance. They will be performing an extract from Thresholds – about a desolate wasteland of scorched earth and damaged relics with memories of the past, three lost souls are caught in a stand-off. How did they get here? And how will this end? All we know is one is holding a banana, another a lightbulb, and the last a fork. Here life persists in light of the calamity, but will we make it through the night?

Elen Bodey: is  a Welsh actor/director who studied at the Northern School of Art and won the 2023 Arc Award with her solo show ‘The Tale of The Star and The Dragon’. Her latest work, A Tail for Our Future, written and directed by Elen, is a piece that includes puppetry, narration and live music and explores where animals are meant to live – if not in our cities, if not in their own habitats, if not in abandoned wastelands…then where? For Rough Cut Revolutions, Elen will be performing a short excerpt of A Tail for Our Future.

Adam & Gillian: Two artists who make a form of durational sculpture. Their practice seeks to explore the notion of ‘the imagined ideal’ through subjective performance, objective experimentation, documentation and observation. Adam and Gillian will be at ARC from Wed 29 Jul with Unboxing and other related events. Check out their events below. They will be our hosts for the night at Rough Cut Revolutions.
