giving voice

giving voice is a workshop reclaiming languages around mental distress in writing and in art.

you don’t have to consider yourself an artist or a writer to participate. anyone with lived experience of mental distress and a desire to explore crossing-over between ways of giving voice to whatever you wish to say is welcome. we will start by looking at sean's exhibition still alone in her voices.

A major residency at the new gallery walsall started him on 'reclaiming the languages of lunacy' based on his own experience of mental distress. he is currently associate artist with greyscale theatre, newcastle. his latest visual poetry exhibition - still alone in her voices - responding to living with psychosis, is on display at ARC from mon 13 mar – sat 22 apr.
