Based on Haruki Murakami’s short story ‘Barn Burning’ and nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2018, Lee Chang-dong’s Burning follows introvert Jong-soo, who meets Hae-mi, after she claims to remember him from their childhood. The two begin seeing each other, but when Hae-mi returns from a trip, she is accompanied by wealthy socialite Ben.
