Winner of the 2018 Hodgkiss Award, Wrestling the Walrus tells of a series of meetings between a man in his late sixties and a woman in her thirties. Spotting the man sitting alone on a park bench, the woman decides to share her lunch with him. The next day the same thing happens.

As their meetings continue they share stories from their lives, but the man becomes a little unsettled and – perhaps that first chance encounter was no accident.

A new play about companionship, connections and the millions of tiny memories that make up someone’s history.

Expect a feast for the senses that weaves together performance with live lyrical music, animation and projected film.

154 Collective is an international group of theatre makers, visual artists, animators, musicians and writers who come together to tell new stories in interesting and captivating ways.

Never been to a 154 Collective show, and want to know what to expect?

It’s a bit like being at the cinema. Our shows are full of projection with big images; like a film taking over the stage. It’s also a bit like being at a gig as we have three musicians on stage playing live throughout. We don’t mind if you nip out to go to the loo or just want to take 5 mins out of the space.  Or, if you turn to your friend and say, “do you think she’s…”, it’s all part of your night, or day, out.

The performance on Wed 10 Jul will be BSL interpreted Sign1.jpg
