Tickets for our September screenings are now on sale. The exciting slate of films have been chosen by ARC’s Producer, Daniel. There’s a chance to see some of the big films you might have missed before lockdown alongside films you might not get to see on the big screen anywhere else.
Screenings will run every Wednesday to Saturday, with relaxed screenings for families on Saturday mornings at 11am.
What’s On
Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar-winning Parasite is among the highlights. The critically acclaimed film won the 2019 Palme d’Or, the coveted top prize at Cannes Film Festival, as well as two BAFTAs at the 2020 ceremony. Parasite also picked up four Oscars at the 92nd Academy Awards, where it became the first film not in the English language to win the award for Best Motion Picture of the Year.
The programme also features David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet, a feature length first hand account of humanity’s impact on the planet we call home from the veteran documentary maker who is now 93. The film is the dedicated naturalist’s impassioned plea for us all to make a change, and now, as he reflects on some of his defining moments. The big screen outing features more of the stunning footage that has become synonymous with the filmmaker across his career.
You can also see Military Wives, which tells the true story of the choir started on a military base by group of women from different backgrounds whose partners are away serving in Afghanistan. Faced with their loved ones’ absences, they come together to form the very first military wives choir, helping each other through some of life’s most difficult moments, and quickly find themselves on an international stage, and managed to capture the 2011 Christmas number one along the way.
For our family audiences we have Saturday morning screenings of and Call of the Wild and Onward. Call of the Wild tells the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life gets turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of Alaska.
Onward is set in a suburban fantasy world, and follows two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.
Other films this September include:
Stage Mother
Emma
Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Love Sarah
The Truth
