We are delighted that ARC will continue to be part of the Arts Council’s National Portfolio after securing core revenue funding from Arts Council England for a further four years from 2018/19 – 2021/22.
This means we will receive £306,091 per year for four years. The funding confirmation was approved after a very positive funding assessment with ARC being marked as ‘Outstanding’ in a number of areas including artistic excellence and audience reach.
Annabel Turpin, Chief Executive of ARC commented: “We are really pleased to remain as a National Portfolio Organisation and secure this funding, which ultimately means that we can continue to offer excellent art and culture for local people.”
ARC also received £251,090 from Arts Council England’s Small Scale Capital Grants Scheme to match the £230,000 investment from Stockton Borough Council.
This combined investment will enable the refurbishment of No 60’s kitchen, ground and first floor bar and foyer areas, helping to improve our food and drink offer and provide a better experience for our customers.
In addition, the theatrical lighting in ARC’s three performance venues will be replaced with LED fixtures, which will significantly reduce energy costs and make ARC a greener building.
Annabel continued: “This additional investment will enable us to become more financially resilient and further reduce our carbon footprint.”
