WASTE asks its audience to prepare for a sonic spectacular, an auditory journey through time, place, and imagination.

Alongside two creatives from the Teesside area, London based sound artist and musician I. Nakhla will be presenting a night of multimedia performances themed around the current climate crisis. As all three artists present the culmination of four months of research, expect an exciting, experimental blend of live sound, vocal recordings, projected visuals and electronic music.

‘Expect a big-bodied, experimental gig, full of rhythm, vibration, and catchy melodies.’ – I. Nakhla, Lead Artist

A socially and environmentally oriented project led by I. Nakhla, WASTE interrogates processes of waste and wastefulness while challenging the narratives surrounding what is classed as ‘resource’ and what as ‘waste’.

About the artist:
I. Nakhla is an artist working across performance, music, and sculpture. Nakhla mixes electronic compositions, field recordings and voices into sonic worlds. Through collaboration and improvisation, Nakhla performs sound and music as transitory places, asking questions about what we consider to be space, place and exhibition.
