The hard work has paid off for two No 60 staff members as they both celebrate gaining their NVQ awards.
No 60’s Cheryl Carter and Rob Sanders recently received the good new that they have both passed their NVQ levels with flying colours, after successfully combining their full time roles with part time study.
Rob recently achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality, Supervision and Leadership, after completing a year of part time study whilst also being periodically observed whilst at work by college tutors.
This is a double celebration for Rob as he was recently promoted to ARC’s Catering Manager from Catering Assistant, which means he is now responsible for the day to day overseeing No 60, as well as the huge task of managing staff, menus, stock takes and event catering. .
Cheryl Carter, Assistant Catering Manager, recently gained an NVQ level 2 in Hospitality, and is now working towards her Level 3, which she hopes to complete by summer 2017.
Both staff have progressed through the ranks at ARC over the past few years, previously working as bar staff and café assistants.
Rob commented: “The past year has been a really great experience for me. It’s been really helpful to learn on the job too and now that I am in a new role it’s been even better. I can’t wait to put what I’ve learnt into practice, the NVQ qualification has been invaluable for my development.”
No 60 is based in ARC’s café area and serves breakfast, lunch and evening meals, as well as hosting regular food and music nights. No 60 also boasts a 22 pan ice cream bar and a selection of craft ales, ciders and spirits.
