In Polish with English subtitles

In this documentary, a group of trans and non-binary actors in Poland shares common experiences while pursuing a life-changing role for the Netflix film ‘Fanfic’.

We Are Perfect gives an honest, multidimensional representation of young non-binary and trans people in Poland – a group that has been so overlooked until now. It’s a story about a new generation of self-aware Poles who refuse to live in a simplistic scheme where there is only what is feminine and masculine.

Two people sat on a bench facing away from the camera. To the right the individual is wearing a black cap with a white t-shirt. They have mid-length blonde hair. To the left they have short brown hair and are wearing a pink jumper with stripey sleeves.

Binarity and non-binarity were concepts outside the discourse of public debate in Poland. The film is a universal story about a world that locks us in a simplistic scheme where there is only what is feminine and masculine. Doesn’t this simplification close us off to a deeper understanding of the world, ourselves, and the people around us?
