Teesside’s comedy fans can rejoice this week as American stand-up legend Rich Hall has added an extra date at ARC.
Tickets for Rich’s original date on Friday 18 November have almost sold out more than four months in advance, and a second date has now been added on Tuesday 29 November – with tickets for both gigs now on sale online and at ARC’s box office.
The grouchy deadpan genius was the inspiration behind Matt Groening’s character Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons, and is loved by millions of comedy fans thanks to a string of top TV credits including Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI, Channel 4’s Comedy Gala and bags more besides.
Renowned for his expertly crafted tirades and rapid-fire wit, Rich has also wowed sold-out stand-up crowds all over the world, winning the much coveted Perrier and Melbourne International Comedy Festival awards along the way.
And, away from stand-up, he’s also the star of a string of critically acclaimed BBC4 documentaries including Rich Hall’s Californian Stars, Rich Hall’s You Can Go To Hell, I’m Going to Texas, Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive and Rich Hall’s Inventing the Indian.
Both dates mark a hugely welcome Teesside return for Rich after a couple of barnstorming Stockton gigs two years ago, and add to an already tasty autumn comedy line-up at ARC.
The popular Catch 22 Comedy Club continues to bring some of the best comics on the circuit to town every month, and Marcus Brigstocke (5 October), Jason Byrne (24 November) and Seann Walsh (9 December), are all bringing their brand new shows to Stockton too.
Graham Ramsay of promoters Ten Feet Tall, who work alongside ARC to bring the shows to Stockton, said: “Rich is right up there as one of my top five comics of all time – an absolute legend as far as I’m concerned – and it looks like Teesside loves him too.
“He’s always gone down an absolute storm in this neck of the woods, and tickets have been selling so fast more than four months in advance that we’ve had to add an extra date just to meet the demand.
“So, here’s two chances to see the great man at work, and I’d definitely recommend people move a bit sharpish to bag their tickets. We’re in for two great nights here, that’s for sure.”
Tickets are now on sale to see Rich Hall on Friday 18 November and Tuesday 29 November at 8pm. These are both 16+ events and tickets for both events cost £16.00. Call the Box Office now on 01642 525 199 or book here.
