Dynamic Pricing
ARC’s policy is to set ticket prices based on demand, like budget airlines, which means we set a price when the event goes on sale and then sometimes put the price up or down depending on how the show is selling. Usually, the price will increase as we get closer to the event, so it is advantageous to book in advance, although sometimes we will put special offers on and reduce the price. Our website will always show the current ticket price.
ARC’s theatre and dance performances are priced on a Pay What You Decide basis, which means you don’t have to pay until after you have seen a show!
We want to encourage more people to come and see shows at ARC, more often. Pay What You Decide not only allows you to pay what you can afford, rather than a fixed ticket price, but also removes the financial risk of buying a ticket for a show in advance without knowing whether you are going to enjoy it or not.
Tickets are available to book in advance as usual, but there is no obligation for you to pay until after you have seen the show. You can then decide on a price which you think is suitable based on your experience, which means if you haven’t enjoyed it at all, you don’t have to pay anything.
All money collected will help ARC pay the artists who have performed, and we therefore hope you will give generously.
Please ensure you have arrived and collected your tickets 15 minutes before the show starts in order to secure your seats. At the end of the show, you can decide what to pay, either by cash on the door or by card at the Box Office.

This summer, DreamWorks Animation dives into the turbulent waters of high school with a hilarious, heartfelt action comedy about a shy teenager who discovers that she’s part of a legendary royal lineage of mythical sea krakens and that her destiny, in the depths of the oceans, is bigger than she ever dreamed.
Sweet, awkward 16-year-old Ruby Gillman is desperate to fit in at Oceanside High, but she mostly just feels invisible. She’s math-tutoring her skater-boy crush, who only seems to admire her for her fractals, and she’s prevented from hanging out with the cool kids at the beach because her over-protective supermom has forbade Ruby from ever getting in the water.
This is a relaxed screening designed to be a more enjoyable experience for learning-disabled people, people with autism and people with sensory or neurological conditions.

Violence
A giant mermaid flips Ruby with a tail, sending her flying headfirst into a rock which knocks her out. Other fight scenes include masked blows during a prolonged fight scene between Ruby and an evil giant mermaid. However, there is limited detail.
Threat and horror
An adolescent mermaid transforms into a scary giant evil mermaid, and there are scenes in which she rises menacingly from the sea and causes scared people to flee. In another scene, Ruby becomes entangled in harpoon lines whilst being pursued by a tugboat. Although there are ultimately reassuring outcomes, these are occasionally delayed rather than rapid.
Language
There is implied bad language in a scene in which a character describes herself as “a mother-flippin mermaid”, and there are also milder terms (‘screw’, ‘OMG’).
Theme
Scenes of emotional upset include those in which Ruby is unhappy that she has grown to gigantic proportions. However, her mother reassures her that she will return to normal size. There is also a comic scene in which Ruby says she’s having a panic attack after she is told that it’s her destiny to be a kraken queen.
Flashing/flickering lights
This work contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
