First came the new user friendly box office system, followed by a brand new website, and now ticket buying will become even simpler with ARC’s new app.
Having been awarded Stockton Voluntary & Community Sector Investment Fund from Catalyst, ARC began developing the new app with award winning Cheshire design company, GSD, ensuring that ARC remains at the forefront of ticket purchasing.
According to The Guardian Newspaper, just under half of the UK population owns a smartphone, giving users immediate access to online resources and services. ARC has recently noticed a shift in the way that its audiences are buying tickets, with a tendency to book much closer to the date of the event than before. The new smartphone app aims to give ARC audiences and customers the ability to easily access information on shows such as dates and prices, and to book tickets on the go wherever they are.
ARC’s Chief Executive Annabel Turpin says that the development of the app will keep ARC in a leading position in terms of online ticketing and information,
Purchasing behaviour has changed hugely over the last few years, and we have witnessed a major shift to last minute buying. People are choosing what to do and see on the day, and ease of access to information is therefore vital. ARC is keen to stay ahead of the game in offering customers a quick, easy way to check out what we have on and click through to buy tickets whilst they are on the go.
Features of the new app will allow users to search any events available, by artform, event title and date, share events via facebook and twitter, set reminders for events and access a call feature on the checkout page. The app will be going live on Friday 16 August.
