Auditions to be held at ARC to find young lead in brand new play…

Are you a young, aspiring female stage performer? You could be the star of Grow up Granddad – the inaugural production from brand new Teesside based theatre company: STEELWORKS!

STEELWORKS’ inaugural play will be Grow up Granddad – a heart-breaking and humorous intergenerational story that deals with love and loss, hope and sadness, as the relationship between Poppy and her Granddad is thrust together and torn apart.

Now, the theatre company is looking for a female lead to play the role of Poppy who can act, dance and sing and is suitable to play the part of a 12 year old girl.

The chosen auditionee will be working alongside professional actors as part of the professional theatre company and therefore some acting experience is necessary.

Auditions are being held at ARC on Sat 9 May and the chosen performer will need to be available to perform in the show between Thur 3 Sept to Sat 12 Sept, and will also be required to be available in the weeks beforehand for rehearsals.

Auditionees must be prepared to turn up to the audition and perform a short dance routine which will be taught on the day, and to ideally bring along a short monologue and an extract of a song to sing.

Monologues and songs can be given on the day but it is advised to prepare beforehand.

Audition slots are as follows;

9.15 – 10.30am
10.45 – 11.30am
12.15 – 1.30pm

Please note: Auditionees must be available for call backs, if successful at first stages, on Sat 9 May afternoon as well as Thur 14 May evening.

Auditions are free but a place must be booked on one of the time slots. You can book your audition place here
