Dance PULSE beats for a second time

Once again ARC has been working with Dance City to deliver PULSE North East – where dance groups, teachers and leaders from across the area will be teaming up to take part and showcase their skills in professional spaces on Saturday 23 March at 7.30pm.
The event is part of U.Dance 2013, a national dance performance event taking place across Leeds from the 18 – 21 July 2013.  Tees Valley groups will be participating in the PULSE performances at a sub-regional and regional level to be selected to represent the North East at this national event, managed by Youth Dance England.

An expected 150 young dancers from across Tees Valley will be participating in the Sub Regional performance at ARC on the Sat 23 March with the hope of reaching the regional final at Dance City on Sat 20 April 2013. After the success of PULSE 2012, ARC’s Chief Executive, Annabel Turpin was looking forward to the opportunity 2013’s event would bring,

It was wonderful to see so many young dancers come together to take part in this celebration of dance last year, and so we’re all the more excited for 2013’s event which will hopefully bring a new wave of talent and energy.”

The PULSE event is a project being delivered through the Dance Hub; a programme of dance activity managed by ARC to support and develop dance opportunities across the area.  Through the Dance Hub ARC initiates and supports opportunities which increase dance provision, support professional development and encourages connections between dancers and practitioners in the Tees Valley. This collaborative initiative has spurred the creation of new youth dance groups, who will be performing together in the PULSE North East dance events.

The PULSE sub-regionals will take place at ARC on Sat 23 Mar at 7.30pm.
