Wondering what’s on this month? December will begin with a sold out crowd enjoying The Funk Collective’s annual Christmas party, while the Arctic Piranha: Winter Wonderland Club Night will be providing another fun, safe and inclusive club night event for learning disabled in adults in Teesside. Music fans can also look forward to an evening with Amelia Coburn and Friends, before The Wildcats of Kilkenny take any of you lucky enough to have grabbed a ticket E-Hi-Ho’ing into Christmas!
Can’t Sit Still bring us the perfect wintery treat for everyone aged 3 and up with Well Done, Mummy Penguin, a brand new stage adaptation of the latest picture book from award-winning writer and illustrator Chris Haughton. And also for little ones, there’ll be Christmas hits, glitter, and grooviness at Club Groovy’s Christmas Sparklefest party!
Love a good laugh? Two of our most popular comedy events return this December – Freddy Quinne will be at the helm in the latest edition of Beat The Gong, and MC Matt Reed hosts our monthly Catch 22 Comedy Club with guests Terry Alderton, Sam Serrano, and Noise Next Door (please note, Catch 22 line-ups are subject to change so please keep an eye on our website and social media pages for the latest news!).
Cinema-goers can enjoy a wide range of screenings from Anatomy of a Fall, Driving Madeleine and Five Nights at Freddy’s, to Saltburn and Napoleon. We’re also very excited to be screening Tish – the showing on Fri 8 Dec includes a very special Q&A with the film’s producer, Jen Corcoran and Ella Murtha, Tish’s daughter, hosted by Bob Fischer. There’s also a dementia supportive screening of Frozen in association with Teesside Dementia Link Services, and Journey to Bethlehem, an epic Christmas musical unlike any before it. And our family Film Club screenings in December include PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and Trolls Band Together – don’t forget you can stay after these films and join us for some craft-related play activities designed by the amazing Kitchen Zoo!
Elsewhere, our regular classes and activities for adults continue as usual – join us for everything from Tai Chi, Ballet Pilates and Creative Writing to Singers, ARCulele, and a Queer Yoga and Sober Social session. This month, you can also have a go at Christmas Wreath Making, or maybe you fancy creating your own Marbled Christmas Baubles and Cards? And sold out classes will be enjoying Taiko Drumming and making a Needle Felt Santa Gnome.
Also, women in Teesside are warmly invited to Poetry Playspaces with the Tees Women Poets, Dancewise will be presenting The Story of the Grinch, and Stockton Riverside College will be delighting audiences with Peter Pan The Musical.
