Incubate verb
 

1.To maintain (eggs, organisms, or living tissue) at optimal environmental conditions for growth and development. Incubate14 is Dep Arts’ subsidised producer support programme for emerging companies and artists. Incubate has been running for the last four years and has supported artists such as:

•Rash Dash Theatre
• Joss Arnott Dance
• Fine Chisel
• Tongue Tied Theatre
• Fifth Word
• Odd Doll
• Square Peg

Incubate14 will be delivered in association with ARC, providing an outside eye and access to space and scratch opportunities at ARC throughout the 12 month programme.
Dep Arts and ARC will work with each Incubate14 artist/company to develop a practical plan of work for the next three years. They will then provide support to deliver the first year of that plan, which may include:

•Support to develop relationships with key UK and international venue managers, promoters, potential commissioners and agencies
• Tour booking and management service, including all tour relatedactivity, both in the UK and overseas
• Support to establish relationships with key funders, including assistance with writing funding bids
• Support and advice in the continuing development of the company artistically and organisationally
• Access to new opportunities for the company in order to raise their profile on a national level
• Representation at key networking events • Marketing support • Access to one day training courses in audience development, fundraising and partnership development

 

Applications are open to artists and companies from anywhere within the UK and can come from any artistic/art form background.

Incubate14 is designed for artists or companies who have made one or two shows/pieces of work and are now looking to develop and tour their work further.
The subsidized rate for Incubate14 is £6,000 (including VAT). A minimum fee of £1,000 is payable at the start of the process, with the opportunity to include the remaining £5,000 in funding bids written and submitted over the course of the programme.
