To ensure that the Tees Valley offers a wealth of vibrant and high quality dance activity for all people the Dance Hub offers opportunities for dance practitioners, teachers and students to access professional development to support their practice and stay connected.

ARC has worked with practitioners, teachers and artists in the area to build a programme of development opportunities which responds to changing needs and the dance ecology.

The Dance Hub professional development programme includes:

Professional Development Workshops
ARC engages professional artists and companies to deliver professional development workshops to support technique, choreography and delivery and encourage networking and shared practice.  Workshop information is sent via email and through the Dance Hub social media sites; details of which can be obtained by signing up to the Hub.

To sign up to the Dance Hub mailing list please contact Katherine Anderson, Creative Programmes Manager.

Mentoring opportunities
ARC supports the development of all practitioners, teachers and dancers in the Tees Valley and through the Dance Hub opens up opportunities to access mentoring opportunities with ARC’s Creative Programmes Manager.

Associate Dance Development Artist scheme
ARC appointed Debbie Waistell as the first Associate Artist of the Dance Hub in November 2011. In this role Debbie develops choreographic work with the Youth Dance Company and has supported a number of professional development activities at ARC.  The role has offered Debbie access to space, mentoring and support with fundraising.

ARC will look to appoint another Associate Dance Development Artist in 2013/2014 (funding dependent).
