If you’re looking for some half term fun to keep the kids entertained then look no further!
Breaking the Ice from Theatre Hullaballoo is a charming tale about a real polar bear and a husky who were captured on camera in the wild as they developed an amazing friendship. This cosy feel-good show has plenty for kids to laugh along to and there will be a 15 minute free Stay and Play session afterwards. The show is part of this year’s Take Off Festival and will be performed on Saturday 22 October at 11am and 2.30pm.
Kubo and the Two Strings is the much anticipated stop-motion animated adventure from Studio Laika, the creators of big hit stop-motion film, Coraline. A young boy named Kubo must locate a magical suit of armour worn by his late father in order to defeat a spooky spirit. This is one for Harry Potter fans and is ideal for a not-so-scarey fright at the cinema before Halloween. Screenings are taking place on Saturday 22 and Tuesday 25 October.
Jack and the Beans Talk is a twist on the classic fairy tale from leading children’s theatre makers, Garlic Theatre. One day, Jack swaps his pet cow for some magic beans and soon starts to hear a whispering in the breeze and a giant rumble in the sky, but will Jack make it back home in time for tea with his mum? The show runs on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 October at 11.30am and 2.30pm.
Mrs Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is another fantastic family film which is based upon the best-selling novel. When Jake discovers clues that link to a local mystery, he uncovers a secret refuge known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As he learns about the residents and their unusual abilities, he realises that the home is not all it seems, and he must find out who is real and who can be trusted. The film will be screened from Friday 28 October – Thursday 3 November.
The grooviest disco for teeny tots is back on Saturday 29 October from 10am – 12pm, so make sure you dress up your little pumpkins for the Club Groovy: Not So Spooky Halloween Ball! Themed games, music and lots of frightfully friendly fun will be had by the club groovy team, so make sure you grab your tickets before they sell out for the biggest Halloween party in Teesside for 0-7 year olds.
