Dynamic Pricing
ARC’s policy is to set ticket prices based on demand, like budget airlines, which means we set a price when the event goes on sale and then sometimes put the price up or down depending on how the show is selling. Usually, the price will increase as we get closer to the event, so it is advantageous to book in advance, although sometimes we will put special offers on and reduce the price. Our website will always show the current ticket price.
ARC’s theatre and dance performances are priced on a Pay What You Decide basis, which means you don’t have to pay until after you have seen a show!
We want to encourage more people to come and see shows at ARC, more often. Pay What You Decide not only allows you to pay what you can afford, rather than a fixed ticket price, but also removes the financial risk of buying a ticket for a show in advance without knowing whether you are going to enjoy it or not.
Tickets are available to book in advance as usual, but there is no obligation for you to pay until after you have seen the show. You can then decide on a price which you think is suitable based on your experience, which means if you haven’t enjoyed it at all, you don’t have to pay anything.
All money collected will help ARC pay the artists who have performed, and we therefore hope you will give generously.
Please ensure you have arrived and collected your tickets 15 minutes before the show starts in order to secure your seats. At the end of the show, you can decide what to pay, either by cash on the door or by card at the Box Office.

The Wild Rover. Mo Ghile Mear.
Mike McGrother is without doubt ARC’s longest, most and enduring performer. His musical and community contribution to the building began way back in 1999 when The Wildcats Of Kilkenny provided us with our very first sold out gig. 21 years later his performances – with and without the band continue to draw audience and critical acclaim and we couldn’t think of anyone better to help us re-open our live events in style! Mo Ghile Mear serves as an ARC mini-residency for our very own Wild Rover in three very different shows full of the musical diversity the observational Teesside craic he has become known and loved for. Tickets for all shows are available on Pay What You Decide basis and strictlty limited in order to comply with ongoing social distancing regulations.
The Wild Rover: Joe’s Speakeasy, Live!
When Mike McGrother shared a pint, (or four!)… with a stranger called Joe Hall a Pint in The Storyteller’s Pub, neither of them could have predicted that their shared afternoon would become what can only be described as an extraordinary project in Teesside. That first meeting and the subsequent death of Joe have resulted in Joe’s Speakeasy – regular gatherings of older residents whose stories and memories become immortalised in song. Ranging from hilarious antics of younger days to the tragic loss of loved ones to the day to day struggles of remembering anything at all, each song evokes the spirit of (extra)ordinary Teessiders who thought they had been forgotten.
Tonight is a chance to step into the currently suspended Speakeasy as Mike shares many of the songs penned to date AND perhaps as the beer flows he’ll uncover new stories of the people and places of the place he so proudly calls home.
‘Each of you has a distinctive voice. When you find it, your story will be told’. John Grisham

Important Information
The UK Government now require all premises where alcoholic drinks are served to operate on a table service only basis. This means that our bars cannot operate as they normally would and all drinks must be served to customers once they are seated. As a result we now have a new process a in place that means we need to ask all customers to pre-order their drinks in advance. The bar will not be open for sales on the evening.
After booking your tickets please send this booking form to [email protected]
