Journey is an exhibition culminating from a two year creative social prescribing programme, delivered in partnership by Teesside Mind and ARC, and funded by Comic Relief.

Featuring work by Arts and Minds participants across 2022 – 2024, Journey showcases the power that creativity and connection can have on personal pathways and positive destinations.

Bringing together the imaginative work of a range of participants from different backgrounds and at varying stages in their creative wellbeing journey, the exhibition also celebrates the distinct achievements and continuing journeys of each individual.

The pieces in Journey range from mixed media works, paintings, ceramics, textiles and upcycled crafts to documentary photography, animated participant stories and video montages.  These were created using new and recycled materials in weekly sessions across the course of Arts and Minds, and are a testament to the artistic skills and ambitions of participants; alongside the local artists who supported them in developing their talents.

The exhibition has been timed to coincide with World Mental Health Day 2024 on Thursday 10 Oct, which aims to bring people together to grow understanding and promote wellbeing.

Journey opens to the public on Tuesday 1 October until Friday 18 October, and can be visited free of charge in The Gallery Downstairs at ARC.
