It is the year 4040 and a young couple have come on a most unusual date. They are excavating a site full of twenty-first century relics. What do they find, how do they interpret them and what happened to their ancestors’ society and culture? It’s a glance into the future to see what the people of Teesside have left behind.

THE TEAM

Executive Producer, Jamie Eastlake, is an Olivier Award winning theatre maker, fresh from the hugely successful Gerry & Sewell at The Theatre Royal, Newcastle.

Writer and Director Ian Smith is the creator of Juggling (Laurels 2023), KNOT and the sold out comedy EAT at The Exchange, North Shields.

Producer Rosie Bowden helped transform Gerry & Sewell from a small studio production to a spectacular hit on The Theatre Royal stage.

All members of the team were part of the group invited by The National Theatre to develop work in London earlier this year.
