Stockton BID

The Stockton Business Improvement District (BID) is a partnership between local businesses and organisations. It is run by businesses for businesses who together aim to revitalise and regenerate Stockton for everyone who works, lives or visits the town centre.

It represents approximately 400 businesses – from retail and entertainment to food and drink with health, beauty, creative and professional services in between.

ARC’s Operations Director, Shaun Dowd, has been involved since the establishment of the BID in 2016 and is currently Chair of the Board.

Thirteen Group

In 2019, ARC began working with Thirteen Group, Stockton’s largest housing provider. Together we work with our local communities to make Stockton and the Tees Valley a great place to live and deliver long term positive change in people’s lives.

The partnership supports an increased range of community-led creative activity. Through sharing our resources, we are able to ensure more people get to experience ARC’s programme.

DRAKE The Bookshop

We regularly work with our local independent bookshop, DRAKE The Bookshop to host author visits and talks including Giovanna Fletcher and Robin Ince.

DRAKE also supports ARC and our visiting artists and companies with book sales at a range of events.

Middlesbrough & Stockton Mind

We work with Mind to co-deliver Arts & Minds, a creative learning programme designed to support adults with mild to moderate mental health conditions. The partnership allows us to both engage and support people across Stockton and Middlesbrough to benefit from creative activity.

Teesside Dementia Link Services

We work with Teesside Dementia Link Services to provide a monthly dementia supportive screening of an older title for those living with dementia and their families and friends. The bespoke experience provided at these screenings was devised in consultation with TDLS service users to provide a more enjoyable experience where other dementia-friendly screenings may not meet their specific access requirements.

TDLS and their service users select the films, with TDLS also providing volunteers to support people to attend the screenings.

Wellington Square

We have worked with Wellington Square for a number of years to link them up with brilliant local artists who have enhanced and animated the outdoor shopping centre through mural and digital work. We are working together to strengthen our contribution to the vibrancy of Stockton town centre.
