ARC has a number of enhanced relationships with artists and companies whose work we feel is of particular value to ARC’s artistic programme.

Packages of support are tailored to the needs of the individual artists, but the relationship is intended to lead to the presentation of work at ARC.

Support can include acting as an ongoing creative mentor or producer, or more practical help with funding applications, rehearsal space, production, technical and marketing support.

Associate relationships are regularly reviewed to make sure they remain mutually beneficial, usually at the end of each project or production.

Umar Butt

Umar is a working class actor, writer, director, and a theatre maker, focused on socially engaged work. Born in Pakistan, he was brought up in Glasgow, and now, he is a proud honorary Smoggie!

Daniel Bye

Middlesbrough-born Daniel Bye makes work for theatre and online platforms as, variously, writer, director and performer.

Audrey Cook

Audrey Cook is a queer, non-binary theatre maker from Teesside, known for their camp and surreal style of storytelling. Their work is bizarre, anarchic, whimsical, and downright daft.

Mike is a writer and performer from Teesside. He makes spoken word shows featuring poetry, character comedy and storytelling.

Full Circle

Full Circle Company is an award winning independent theatre company of learning disabled theatre makers making critically acclaimed work.

Holly Gallagher

Holly Gallagher is a theatre maker, director and facilitator based in Thornaby, Teesside interested in new work that speaks about the world we live in today and stimulates an audience's imagination.

Kitchen Zoo are Hannah Goudie and Bob Nicholson, who create playful, energetic and joyful theatre for young audiences.

Mike McGrother

If ARC was a stick of rock it would quite possibly have the name Mike McGrother running through it. Eaglescliffe born Mike is undoubtedly the longest lasting ‘resident’ in the building as he has been part of its life since the opening in 1998.
