Pay What You Decide Info
Running time: 1hr 25mins
Dynamic Pricing
ARC’s policy is to set ticket prices based on demand, like budget airlines, which means we set a price when the event goes on sale and then sometimes put the price up or down depending on how the show is selling. Usually, the price will increase as we get closer to the event, so it is advantageous to book in advance, although sometimes we will put special offers on and reduce the price. Our website will always show the current ticket price.
ARC’s theatre and dance performances are priced on a Pay What You Decide basis, which means you don’t have to pay until after you have seen a show!
We want to encourage more people to come and see shows at ARC, more often. Pay What You Decide not only allows you to pay what you can afford, rather than a fixed ticket price, but also removes the financial risk of buying a ticket for a show in advance without knowing whether you are going to enjoy it or not.
Tickets are available to book in advance as usual, but there is no obligation for you to pay until after you have seen the show. You can then decide on a price which you think is suitable based on your experience, which means if you haven’t enjoyed it at all, you don’t have to pay anything.
All money collected will help ARC pay the artists who have performed, and we therefore hope you will give generously.
Please ensure you have arrived and collected your tickets 15 minutes before the show starts in order to secure your seats. At the end of the show, you can decide what to pay, either by cash on the door or by card at the Box Office.
Seating: Reserved
For the past year, the Tees Valley International Film Festival has been inviting independent filmmakers from all over the world to submit their short films for inclusion in the festival. From the hundreds of entries we received, the following films have been nominated for the Best Drama Award.
Boy in the Back Seat
1986. A young boy is left unattended in the car while his volatile dad takes care of some ‘business’ in a dodgy local pub. What could possibly go wrong?
Dir: Scott Pickup
Internal Abyss
As Mia battles the effects of both her broken home and her toxic relationship, her loneliness grows, and hope is fading. Will she find hope and a route to follow, or will life always be this Internal Abyss?
Dir: Heléna Antonio
Team Builder
A squabbling diversity committee at a Life Insurance company reluctantly takes part in a team-building exercise. But when the Operator of their escape room chokes on a peanut they have just minutes to get out and save him. To do that they must work as a team.
Dir: Anna Southgate
ManMade
Funerals can be environments where men want to cry but refuse to while their past rides up to hit them. Eddie Holgate is caught in this exact situation. His father has built him up all his life to be tough in an attempt to trickle down his masculinity. But as a tumultuous and charged service at his team’s football pitch sparks unwanted memories, Eddie is forced to examine the man he idolized against the husband and caregiver he very much was not.
Dir: Plum Stupple-Harris
Venus
A young female artist unravels the beautiful facade that painted over her lover’s abuse.
Dir: Esmeralda Seay-Reynolds
Brother Nature
Two brothers live by the estuary, hunting to survive, until one decides surviving isn’t living. Brother Nature is an experimental hybrid that exists in the overlap between drama and documentary, using street casted local characters and real settings.
Dir: Maxie Neil Bianco
You can see all these films back-to-back in this block showing of the Tees Valley International Film Festival Best Drama Award-nominated short films.
Total running time: 1hr 25mins
