Mermaid dances to the Moon

The Moon has got a story to tell about a tippetty-top tap dancer who he has been watching at night and you can hear it at ARC on Sat 31 May! Marina Skippett creeps out at night to tap dance on the boardwalk to the sounds of the sea. She can’t tap dance at home anymore since her evil, tractor-sized Aunty banned it, threatening to feed Marina’s dinners to the dog! But then, one magical night, Marina meets a mysterious watery boy swimming alone and her life is never the same again!

Marina, The Moon and a bunch of beautiful, hand-crafted mer-puppets are swimming their way to your venue to star in The Tap Dancing Mermaid, an innovative and exciting new one-woman show written and performed by Tessa Bide.
Following her extraordinary success and multiple sell-out performances performing in Niki McCretton’s Muttnik: The First Dog in Space and Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company’s Elves and the Shoemaker, the “truly amazing one woman power house” Tessa Bide returns with her first, devised solo production. A “simply magical experience” (Manchester’s Finest), The Tap Dancing Mermaid features original, beautiful live music, stunning puppets and tap dance that will make you want to stick 50ps to your shoes and join in! For mer-boy and mer-girls 3 years and up.

• Tessa Bide presents The Tap Dancing Mermaid at ARC on Sat 31 May at 2.30pm. Tickets are price F: £6 Family (4 people): £20 and can be purchased here.
