No ticket? Come right in…

You probably already know that we have a huge range of events, screenings, and activities to suit almost anyone. What you might not know is that there’s lots of things you can do at ARC for free, or without a ticket.

Take a look at one of our brilliant exhibitions
Did you know we have a gallery? You’ll find it on our second floor foyer – we have a new exhibition every couple of months so, even if you’ve been before it’s worth another visit. Better yet it’s completely free for anyone to view, you don’t even need a ticket! Our current exhibition focuses on the theme of Sport, Movement and Dance and some of the works shown were exhibited at the Great North CityGames on Sat 7 Sept. Our exhibitions change regularly, so make sure you keep an eye on our website to see what’s coming up, or you can join our mailing list to get updates.

Relax with a coffee or a bite to eat in No 60
You can stop by our café bar, No 60, whether you’re here for something that’s on in the building or not. It’s ideal if you’re just looking for a place to take a break away from the high street. Grab a bite to eat and a drink, and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi. The No 60 team cater to all dietary needs, so if you’re vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free just let them know and they’ll help you find something delicious. Take a look at our menus and see what takes your fancy!

Workshops with visiting artists
Every so often we host free workshops with artists who are bringing a show to ARC. It’s a chance to meet the artists and take part in a chat or creative activity while finding a bit more about what they’re working on. Matthew Bellwood recently joined us to encourage people to make clay figures and write about places that we’re special to them, ahead of his show Terror from the Skies coming to ARC this October. Keep an eye on our website and social media (links below) to make sure you don’t miss any of these one-off workshops.

Pick a winning pitch while enjoying some pizza (it’s free, but you will need a ticket)
Earlier this year we held our first ever Pizza & Pitches night. Pizza & Pitches is a community commissioning event. Join us and decide which one of four projects will receive £1000 and our support to bring their idea for a creative project to local people in Stockton! This event is free to attend, but you’ll need to book a ticket so we know how much pizza to make! The next Pizza and Pitches event will be held on Wed 9 Oct.

Discover the wonders of the universe at Café Scientifique
We love to play host to Teesside University’s Café Scientifique events. Anyone can attend, no ticket required. Better still it’s free for students (and a suggested donation of £4.50 for others). These events bring some of the most interesting scientific conversations on a range of fascinating topics to Stockton. Join us for Café Scientifique: A Window on the Heart, on Tues 24 Sept, and see for yourself.

You do need a ticket, but you can pay whatever you decide
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to decide how much you paid for a theatre ticket? You don’t need to wonder – you actually can. You’ll find loads of our theatre performances priced on a Pay What You Decide basis. It gives you the flexibility to pay whatever you feel the experience is worth to you. Pre-book a ticket, see the show, and pop a donation in the box at the end. It’s that simple. Take a look at what’s coming up here.
