In 1993 a then shy, skin-headed and somewhat bewildered musician began working in Stockton-on-Tees. Mike McGrother had a simple vision – to use his musicality and passion for his hometown to make lives better and put a smile on people’s faces.

Thirty years on, there can be very few people living on Teesside who haven’t experienced one of Mike’s endless engagement projects or the timeless rapture of a Wildcats of Kilkenny gig. His work in the community – be that within education, festivals, prisons, housing estates, parks and high streets are testament to his energy and an unerring commitment to our area.

As Mike prepares to launch a very exciting new chapter which builds upon, as Mike puts it, his ‘constant learning curve of creative chaos’ he invites you to relive some of the highlights from the last three decades, join him in looking to what the future might hold, and remember how music, stories, and togetherness can re-energise the spirit of community.

Featuring his beloved Wildcats of Kilkenny, the ‘surreally good’ Scott Turnbull, the mighty Infant Hercules along with some very special collaborations with and tributes to his musical influences, this is probably going to be the most Teesside-centric music event you’ll ever attend.

Tickets are strictly limited, suitable for 18+ and please expect cabaret style seating. The event will last approximately 90 minutes with no interval.
